These steps apply only to NFC tags that can be rewritten. Some tags are locked, password-protected or configured for a particular service. Updating a tag replaces its previous data. Back up the existing link before changing it.
1. Check the existing tag
With NFC enabled on a compatible phone, scan the keyring and record where it currently sends you. If it opens a web link, copy that address.
2. Open an NFC writing app
Install a reputable NFC reading/writing app compatible with your phone, such as NFC Tools, and follow its instructions to read the tag before making changes.
3. Enter your new destination
Select the app's option to write a URL or website record, enter the full address (including https://), and follow the prompt to hold the phone against the tag.
4. Test it
Scan the keyring again, ideally using another compatible phone, and confirm the link opens correctly.
Troubleshooting
If writing fails, first check that the NFC tag is rewritable, the device supports writing, and the tag is within range of the phone's NFC antenna. Do not repeatedly overwrite a tag if it contains data you need to preserve.
Changing a digital NFC link does not change the physical 3D-printed image. Contact us about a new branded keyring if you need a different physical design.
